I am a synthetic biologist specializing in CRISPR-Cas tools and genome structure-function relationships. I have experience working in three major model systems: mammalian tissue culture, S. Cerevisiae, and E. Coli.

During my time in graduate school, I conducted research in Jesse Zalatan's lab at the University of Washington – Seattle, where I developed new CRISPR-based synthetic biology tools to create genetic logic gates and manipulate the 3D organization of the genome. I'm passionate about improving the culture surrounding mentorship, mental health, and diversity, equity, and inclusion in the sciences. I was part of several ongoing efforts at the University of Washington to improve the Chemistry Department's culture surrounding these topics.
